Program Management

A global enterprise security system must be looked at holistically to be effective. We architect, plan, budget, and manage global systems, the infrastructure needed to support them, and the applications that make them valuable. We work to understand a company’s vision and collectively establish the standards and best-practices by which we execute that vision.

We manage all projects with the intention of improving an organization’s performance. We know a decision on one project in one part of the world can have a ripple effect on a completely different project somewhere else.  We also advise our customers on critical technology choices as some decisions may either allow a company to migrate to and adopt different technologies as they come available, or prevent them from doing so.

Our program management role ensures all projects, systems and applications are aligned to ensure optimal organizational performance today, as well as provide a migration path for future innovations.

Project Management

Our project managers are the best in the industry with university degrees in construction management, deep practical knowledge of security technologies, and many years of experience. We have project managers in all of our regional offices.

Our project management team works closely with the client to develop design drawings, project budget proposals, timelines and then interfaces with the installation teams and/or local service providers to keep the project running smoothly. We look to not only meet the specification of the particular project, but the expectations of the ultimate end-user. We communicate closely with our clients at all stages of the project to ensure the system is installed and configured as required, and the local staff is appropriately trained. The team prides itself in delivering projects on time, on scope and in budget every time.

Design

Our team of experienced designers and drafters create professionally engineered and drafted project design documents that facilitate communication around the world with construction teams and other trades ensuring our work is done to specification. Documentation packages are easy-to-read, clear and comprehensive. Documents include:

Application Engineering

Customizing and programming complex security systems software and applications is essential for our customers.  Northland has one of the strongest software programming and application engineering teams in the industry. We have 25 master certified application engineers dedicated to deploying, configuring, maintaining and optimizing complex, integrated, physical security systems.

We have over a dozen application engineers embedded at many of the world’s top companies. They ensure that the enterprise systems, global operations centers, and critical operations are highly available, effective and responsive to real-time events.

In addition, we have another dozen application engineers working with clients and manufacturers on custom solutions, analytics, reports and special projects for integrations with non-security applications.

Local Installation

Northland is a full service integrator in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and in the United Kingdom. In these areas, our highly skilled team performs local installations. Our installation team provides high quality work and is continually training and learning the latest technologies so we can best advise our customers. We use the feedback from this team to optimize drawings and source the best equipment. From our hands-on experience we can better support installation partners in other states and around the world. We know what works from our own field experience.

Global Installation

Globally, Northland has longstanding relationships with the best integrators in the world. We provide them with the documents and direction they need to complete projects to our customer’s complete satisfaction. We personally get to know our local partners, and our technicians, project managers and application engineers meet with and work with them on multiple projects each year.  By knowing our extended teams personally, we find we can be more responsive to our customers.

System Maintenance

The Northland Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) is the hub for all service and maintenance calls. Clients can call in or register a service issue online. Our GSOC team will dispatch a service team or get a qualified technician or system engineer on the line to resolve your issue.  We track calls and issues carefully and provide detailed reports and metrics that can help companies make informed business decisions. We are responsive, dynamic and flexible to ensure we fix your issues quickly wherever they may be.
